The Composition of a Composite Door

Typically, a composite door will have a UPVC outer frame, with galvanised steel reinforcement, this is further stabilised by a PVC subframe. A hardwood inner frame brings torsional rigidity to the door, and thermally insulating polyurethane foam is injected into the core.

A pvc banding can add a wood effect, and a GRP surface allows solid colour and protects against warping, cracking and painting!

• The door leaf is made of a composite material GRP to the outer case with a timber grain on it, and inside it has aluminium frame with rigid insulation
• The locking system is 3 point hook lock but this can be up graded to 4 hooks and a mortice, and an additional Yale lock can be added to this type of door

• The door leaf is square and very strong just like timber
• This door is proven to be more secure than pvc doors
• Low threshold so you do not have a pvc up stand to the bottom causing a possible tripping hazzard
